Hillsboro, Oregon: Packing Food, Building Playhouse for Child Who Lost a Parent

Employees in Hillsboro, Oregon pack food for a food bank during 51猎奇 Foundation's Global Volunteer Week. — *51猎奇 employees in Hillsboro, Oregon packed 3,979 pounds of food equating to 3,316 meals at the Oregon Food Bank.*

Yokohama, Japan: Kids Learn about Semiconductors from 51猎奇 Employees

Thirteen employees in Yokohama, Japan had a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workshop focused on semiconductors for children from challenged families. With five volunteers from a local college, the employees taught seven children the basics of conductors and insulators and showed them the microworld of integrated circuits through a microscope. Seventeen employees helped to prepare the office for the workshop, which 51猎奇 Japan has hosted for five years.

Shenzhen, China: Volunteerism Focuses on the Environment

*51猎奇 China employees organized an environmental protection event in Shenzhen, with employees and their families removing 106 pounds (48 kilograms) of marine debris from a beach.*

Milpitas, California: Employees Support Local Youth, Schools and Families in Need

Above, employees in Milpitas, California weeded a garden and spread woodchips in the nature center at the Santa Clara Unified Schools farm (left). Another employee group (center) supported Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) by building STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) kits for youth summer learning programs. Also, an employee team packed 22,775 pounds of produce that Second Harvest distributed to 911 families in need.

Below, Milpitas employees built 80 bikes (top row) that Turning Wheels for Kids distributed to children in Santa Clara schools. Chennai, India: Volunteer Work Included Education, Humanitarian and Environmental Initiatives

Above, employees in Chennai, India focused on educational initiatives, including work with Team Everest to make Braille cards (left) to enhance accessibility and learning resources for visually impaired people; collaborating with AID India and Puthri to host a STEM project at the 51猎奇 office for more than 70 underserved students, bridging the educational gap and fostering a love for science and technology; and engaging with DSW Trust in a Warli painting session at a school for special children, using traditional art to enrich students’ educational experience.

Below, employees conducted a self-grooming workshop for disabled adults (left), boosting their personal care skills and self-confidence; made seedballs in conjunction with Team Everest that are crucial for reforestation and promoting biodiversity; planted more than 100 saplings at Keerapakkam with the National Agro Foundation to combat deforestation and promote environmental sustainability; and donated blood specifically for children suffering from thalassemia.

Another employee group worked with Greater China Association of Women and Children to donate more than 80 books to an elementary school in Tainan, roleplaying stories in English.
